UPDATED VERSION In light of the Black Lives Matter movement, it is so important for teachers to create spaces in their classroom to embrace and celebrate diversity. Literature is an amazing way to do this! These QR codes link to picturebooks (being read on YouTube) which feature black characters in the forefront of the stories - boys, girls, and some famous figures! This is a cost-efficient way to introduce diverse texts in your classroom/school library - or even as a way for children to access these texts at home. However please note that you should still seek to include physical texts in your classroom which embrace diversity, as many picturebook stories rely on close analysis of the images in order to understand the messages/story being portrayed.
